World artists Tinariwen from Mali came to Gothenburg for a couple of days in the late summer of 2013 to record a special concert for Sweden’s television. With a fresh American Grammy for best world music album, they performed their music and told about their lives in this concertfilm by Kalle Gustafsson Jerneholm and Fredrik Egerstrand in a recording from the big shipyard dock in Gothenburg harbor and during the Clandestion Festival in Botnik Studios. The band, whose members belong to the nomad people Tuareg, was formed in 1982 when they were trained in Muammar Kadaffi’s military camp in Libya in the face of independence struggles against Mali’s regime. http://www.connyfridh.com
